Description

Cell Master – Handheld Cable, Antenna and Base Station Analyzer
Base Station Centra!Cell Master MT8212B is the value choice for deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting wireless base stations. Compact, handheld and lightweight, it combines the functionality of:

  • Built-in cable and antenna analyzer (25 MHz to 4.0 GHz)
  • Built-in spectrum analyzer (100 kHz to 3.0 GHz)
  • Built-in power meter (4.5 MHz to 3.0 GHz)
  • Built-in GPS provides location information (latitude, longitude, altitude) as well as UTC time.

For network installation and maintenance, Cell Master MT8212B eliminates the need for field engineers and field technicians to carry, manage and learn multiple test sets. It includes transmitter analyzer (GSM, CDMA, cdmaOne, CDMA2000 1xRTT, and CDMA2000 1xEV-DO, and iDEN), transmission analyzer for 2-port devices, interference analyzer, channel scanner, GPS receiver, GPS Antenna Tester, CW signal generator (tests LNAs, repeaters or base station receiver sensitivity), and T1/E1 analyzer.

MT8212B measurement capability includes precision return loss, VSWR, cable loss, distance-to-fault, signal identification, interference analysis, channel power, adjacent channel power ratio, field strength, transmitter power, code domain power (CDP), burst power, iDEN Constellation, two port measurement, multiple transmitted signals, power measurement, and T1/E1 measurements including DS0/VF channel monitoring. Patented RF interference rejection enables accurate, repeatable measurements in the presence of high RF activity. PC data analysis software enables assessment of system trends, problems, and performance in addition to professional report generation.

The MT8212B includes PC data analysis software, soft carrying case, rechargeable battery, AC/DC power supply, 12 V automotive cigarette lighter adapter, RS232 null modem serial cable and user’s guide.

    Applications

  • Cable and antenna testing (25 MHz to 4.0 GHz)
  • Spectrum analysis—anytime, anywhere (100 kHz to 3.0 GHz)
  • Interference detection, identification and location
  • High accuracy power measurements for CW and modulated signals like CDMA/EVDO, GSM/Edge, and WCDMA/HSDPA
  • GSM RF Measurements – GSM RF measurements are channel power, burst power, occupied bandwidth, carrier frequency, frequency error and Training Sequence Code (TSC).
  • cdmaOne and CDMA2000 1xRTT demodulator – Cell Master demodulates CDMA2000 1xRTT signals displaying code domain power, pilot power, channel power, frequency error, waveform quality (rho), pilot time tolerance (tau), Pilot Ec/Io and carrier feed through.
  • cdmaOne and CDMA2000 1xRTT Over The Air (OTA) – over the air measurement provides a cost effective way to identify base station performance problems before they become catastrophic without taking the base station off the air.
  • 1xEV-DO RF Measurements – Pilot/Mac power, Pilot power, frequency error, measured bandwidth, idle/active activity and idle/active data.
  • 1xEV-DO Demodulator – Cell Master demodulated CDMA2000 1xEV-DO signals displaying code domain power as Mac code power or data code power screens.
  • 1xEV-DO Over The Air – measurement displays Pilot/Mac power, Noise Floor, Rho Overall 1, Rho Pilot, Pilot dominance, mulitpath power, three strongest pilots with power, and two strongest multipaths relative to the strongest pilot.
  • iDEN Signal Analyzer includes both RF and Demodulation measurements. RF measurements include Main Channel Power, individual sub channel powers, Peak to average ratio, frequency error, Occupied Bandwidth, Current Active slot power, ON/OFF ratio and average duty cycle. Demodulation measurements include Demod-SQE, EVM of Channel, individual sub channel EVMs and Phase Noise. In addition, the Cell Master displays the Spectrum of the signal, Adjacent Channel power ratio, power vs. time and the constellation of the demodulated signal.
  • Channel Scanner – measures the power of multiple transmitted signals, and is very useful for measuring channel power in AMPS, iDEN, GSM, and TDMA networks.
  • Transmission Measurement – a two port measurement covering the 25 MHz to 3 GHz frequency range.
  • T1/E1 Analyzer – performing full T1/E1 functional tests, simplifying the task of determining if the source of the problem is on the wireline or the wireless side.
  • GPS Antenna Tester – Helps to validate the functionality of GPS Antennas found in most base stations. Measurements include current drawn by the GPS Antenna.
